The Best Anti Wrinkle Foods

Many women spend hundreds of dollars every month on anti wrinkle supplements, creams and other products. Looking younger can be as simple as including anti wrinkle foods into your diet to aid you in the fight for younger looking skin.

When it comes to anti wrinkle foods, many people think these foods will not be tasty and will avoid them simply because of the taste. The number one of all anti wrinkle foods is something you have every day: water. Drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water a day is required to keep the skin supple and hydrated. Dehydrated skin is more prone to wrinkles and lines, so to combat the situation, simply step up your water intake. Avoid the sugar laden soft drinks and teas, and substitute water instead. You can add lemon to water to give it a different taste. And just because soft drinks are made of water, they do not count towards your water intake.

Fruits and Vegetables

Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries are all great fruits to incorporate into your diet. You should have a total of 1 cup of fruit a day, and this does not include glazes or pie fillings. The fruits themselves are what you really need, fresh or frozen. Apples, prunes, cherries and plums as well as tomatoes and peppers of all kinds are known to also have the antioxidants that these other fruits have that are ideal in all anti wrinkle foods. Antioxidants help to rid the body of free radicals as well as provide nutrition to the skin, causing wrinkles to be less noticeable. Cashews, sesame seeds, sweet potatoes, carrots, garlic, broccoli and spinach as well as yellow onions all have these same antioxidants that are required in anti wrinkle foods for a well balanced diet. Eating a colorful diet of fresh fruits and vegetables not only gives you variety on your plate, but is essential for those looking for anti wrinkle foods to help restore a more youthful appearance.

Citrus fruits and those high in vitamin C and A are known for their anti wrinkle components, while garlic is known to be used for its skin restoration properties. Leafy green vegetables should be eaten 5 times a day, or a total of 3 cups a day. At least one serving of these vegetables should be raw; to get the full effect of the anti wrinkle foods you are eating.

All of these fruits and vegetables can be served in many different ways. From steaming to boiling, fried or raw, the simple fact that you are eating them is what matters. It is best to avoid fried foods altogether, but if this is the only way you will eat sweet potatoes or any other vegetable, so be it. There is a reason that many less vegetarians seek anti aging products, they simply eat the foods that are rich in vitamins and minerals found in anti aging foods so they don’t need the products. Remember what your mother told you: eat your vegetables and you will grow up big and strong. This is also true for your skin. A minimum of 3 full cups a day of fresh fruits and vegetables is required for healthy skin function. Remember that skin is not only part of our outer beauty, but is an organ that protects the rest of the body and is important to our overall health.
