My Breath Stinks:
How to Get Rid of Bad Breath...NOW!
Can
Disease Contribute to Bad Breath?
Bad
breath is caused by a variety of factors. Poor oral hygiene, certain types of mouthwash, and certain
medications are some of the factors that cause bad breath.
However, even worse than that, there are some diseases that
can contribute to bad breath.
Some of the diseases that cause bad breath are gum diseases,
chronic sinus infection, poor digestion and ill working liver,
diabetes, and more. One of the most striking causes of bad
breath is the growth of odor-causing bacteria in the mouth
and the digestive tract.
There
are ways to tell if you have bad breath. The most common
way to notice it is if your mouth has a bitter taste to it.
You can either cup your hand over your mouth and breathe into
it, and then bring that hand to your nose to check the smell.
Either that or you can lick the inside of your wrist and put
it to your nose and sniff. If you notice an offensive odor
while doing either of the “bad breath tests” then you know
that you need to possibly make some improvements on your oral
hygiene habits.
Also there are solutions offered as well such as Halitonic,
which is an herbal remedy or doctor’s prescriptions for this
disorder. Also, you can use a mixture of 50% water, and 50%
hydrogen peroxide instead of using traditional mouthwash. This
mixture will kill off any bacteria that cause bad breath. Baking
soda also has been known to have a similar effect, and is often
one of the ingredients used in toothpaste, as well as peroxide.
Also, there are a variety of other health tips that are recommended
for the reduction and elimination of bad breath. For one, it
is better if you do not smoke. This will decrease your chance
of having bad breath for sure. Also, if you have regular dental
check-ups, it will help rule out any other possibilities of
worse complications such as gum disease, and to help correct
any overhanging fillings or leaking crowns (food can get caught
in these).
Also, the increased
flow of saliva can help reduce bad breath
as well. Chewing gum and sugarless lozenges can help create
this saliva production, as well as keep your breath fresh.
Sugarless mints are a wise choice as well, and so are the breath
strips that melt in your mouth. In fact, breath strips are
so powerful that they reach down your esophagus into your stomach.
These are very effective, so you may want to consider using
them.
If you are going on a date, you may want to consider avoiding
foods with strong aftertaste such as foods with onion or garlic.
Furthermore, you will want to refrain from alcohol and caffeine
whenever possible-at least on a first date. It is not that
you should be paranoid about your bad breath, but that you
should think about how it affects other people. Sometimes people
have bad breath without even knowing it.
If you do not notice the bad breath on your own, you will
definitely notice other people turning their heads away from
you if they get close to you. Another clue is if someone makes
excuses for not wanting to kiss you. You do not want to live
like that, so you should take care of that problem as soon
as you can, because it is a simple problem that can easily
be corrected in a reasonable amount of time.
Other effective preventions of bad breath include making sure
that you brush your teeth after every meal, floss and rinse
thoroughly. You should also brush your tongue, because food
residue often gets stuck here. Also, chlorophyll and natural
mint oil are breath fresheners. In fact, the natural mint can
be added to your toothpaste, and acts as an antibacterial agent.
Also, you should avoid breathing through the mouth and make
sure you drink plenty of water. When drinking water, you will
want to consider swishing it around your mouth and through
your teeth to rinse out any food particles.
You can search the Internet to find more information on how
to cure and prevent bad breath and the diseases that cause
it. You can search for it with the phrase “bad breath” or by
the name “halitosis.” Halitosis is what doctors often refer
to bad breath as. #
