I Want My Ex Boyfriend Back!
How
To Get My Ex Back
- Who Should I Listen To?
You’re fresh off of a break up and everyone
seems to have an opinion for you. The friendly advice is beginning
to stack up and the more of it you hear, the more confused
you become. At a time like this, who should you be listening
to.
One friend says you’re better off without him and that you
should try going out on a double date with her and her boyfriend’s
cousin. Another friend says that she’s been through this before
and that you’ll start to feel better with time. Your mom is
telling you to get over it in a hurry and not to let one bad
experience with one guy ruin so much of your time. Your little
brother wants you to get together with your ex because he thinks
your old boyfriend had a great looking car. You have another
acquaintance who tells you that you should do whatever it takes
to get him back right away, just to prove that you can. Another
firend says that… Okay, you get the idea. There are a lot of
opinions out there.
Which one are you going to listen to? You might be able to
find a kernel of wisdom in everyone’s perspective, but in the
end there is only person whose counsel you should heed. This
is the one person who best understands your feelings, the nature
of your relationship, and what is really best for you.
Do you know who that is? It’s you.
That’s right, it’s
time to start tuning out all of the outside wisdom and
to look into your heart for
direction. A thorough
and completely honest self-assessment of the situation is more
likely to yield an appropriate series of answers than anything
you will hear from those around you. To use a tried and true
cliché, this is the time to listen to your heart.
The reasons for trusting your own judgment as you think about
whether or not to get your ex boyfriend back should be obvious.
No one but you knows how the relationship made you feel. You
are the only person in the world who understands the nature
and depth of your feelings for him. There is no one better-situated
to interpret the context of the relationship and the events
that may have led up to your break up. And, in the end, there’s
only one person who can make the decision. That person is you.
So, as nice as it would be to have someone come forward with
all the answers, the only person who can really help you is
you. Some outside advice can be helpful. It can give you perspective
or new ways to look at the situation. It can’t, however, answer
the big questions for you.
So, now it’s time for some soul-searching. You need to think
long and hard about the situation and you need to play close
attention to what your heart is telling you. If the end result
is a decision to leave the relationship behind, so be it. If,
on the other hand, your heart is screaming for you to take
action, it is time for you to get busy. It’s time for you to
get your ex boyfriend back.
