Top 5 Red Flags on Christian Dating Sites
If you are trying to decide on someone that
you’d like to talk to more who you have seen on a Christian
dating site, there may be things about this person that you
aren’t going to like. The problem with dating sites and especially
with Christian dating sites is that you never know when someone
is simply writing down things that they think other people
are going to like, or when they are writing things down that
are true. This means that you could be falling for someone
because of who you think they are, not because of who they
really are. It is hard to date people after you have seen their
profiles on an online dating site, because you are never really
sure what to make of them and what they have posted about themselves.
They might be telling you the truth, and they might be lying
about it. You never really can tell who is being honest and
who is writing things that they think others might want to
hear.
Luckily, there are some
behaviors that you can red flag right away. These are things that you can take in account as probably
being behaviors that can cancel out any attraction that you
might have for a person. There are certain things that they
might do which will let you know they aren’t people you want
to be dating.
The first is if they have
negative things to say about God or Christianity or Christians
themselves. Even if they are
on a Christian dating site, they might say something in passing
that is negative about a faith that you hold strongly. If they
are saying things that offend you regarding Christianity, you
should red flag them because they are probably not someone
you want to go on a date with.
The second would be lying
of any sort. If you catch someone
in a lie on their profile, you can red flag them right away.
This might be something as simple as saying they are from a
town that doesn’t exist, or saying that they go to a church
that doesn’t really exist. It might be that they say they graduated
in a certain year, and then later they say a different year.
Any time that anyone is being untruthful, this can be a red
flag for sure when it comes to online dating.
The third would be if they say
or write something that makes you uncomfortable. This can be anything ranging from an off
color joke that you don’t appreciate, to racist remarks or
remarks about a gender that might be offensive to you. If a
person writes something that bothers you in any way, this is
a sure sign that they are not someone you want to be dating,
so skip that profile and go on to something else.
The
fourth would be that you should be careful of the profiles
that contain statements about how a person has come
around and changed their behavior in their lives. Now, this might
be true in many situations, because many times people do turn
their lives around and come back to Christianity and this might
be the case for someone on the dating site. But, you should
be wary if they mention these things in their profile, because
it might be that they are trying to lure in true believers
in order to get a date with someone they perceive as a nice
person. While they might indeed have changed their ways and
come around to their faith, just be careful when you are talking
to them, and make sure that they are really serious about it.
The
fifth behavior that you should red flag when it comes to
Christian dating sites is if someone claims
to be using this site just to meet people. There are many online
dating sites that one can join, but if they are joining a Christian
dating site, they should be doing so because the most important
things in their life involve their Christianity. If you find
someone who says they are only on the site to meet people it
is going to mean that they are probably not someone you want
to be dating.
