Finding a Soul Mate: A Great Christian Debate
The
term soul mate may bring forth an overflowing abundance of
thoughts to the mind, but for the most part everyone
seems to be onboard with the definition being the individual
to whom you are most connected to on an intimate level. Christians
have a specific stance on the soul mate phrase, and given their
religious background and foundation, it is no wonder. Finding
a soul mate, to Christians, no longer means simply being able
to find someone that you love and can have a great relationship
with and enjoy spending time with. It is also important to
Christians that the individuals are also able to worship the
Lord together and live in a way that would actively enable
the two to be able to share their religion together.
Many
people are all too eager to ignore religion when they
are in a relationship, and this does not go over too well when
it comes to the Christian view point or what a soul mate is
and how to find one. The religion aspect plays in to their
lives more and is just something else that many people who
are Christians really want to focus on. It helps to define
how the individual thinks about and treats other people, their
friends and their family members. In most cases it also helps
to define how the individual lives their life, in almost every
aspect that a person can consider.
Christians seem to believe that a soul mate cannot truly be
a soul mate when the individuals do not share a common love
of god and Jesus. In order for two people to really be soul
mates it was very important that individuals are able to share
their religion and their spirituality, and not just in a respectful
or understanding way. It is important that the couple really
intimately and deeply understand that religion is important
and vital to a healthy, loving relationship. They also believe
that when an individual finds their soul mate, they should
marry them. Their love should not be expressed in physical
terms prior to their wedding night and they should always be
deeply devoted not only to each other, but also to their Lord
as well.
Finding
a soul mate is possible for Christians, but not always
in the way that individuals would ordinarily think of it. The
widely accepted stance of the general public is that one person
may have a number of soul mates from which they learn certain
things, and not all soul mates are of the preferred gender.
Sometimes, people look at their own intimate friends and see
their as soul mates. Still, Christians seem to believe that
there is one person for everyone, and God has determined that
person for each individual that is seeking to find their soul
mate in a way that is loving and respectful of the Lord. Once
the Christian finds their Christian soul mate, they will be
able to celebrate this by getting married and being able to
start a family in a healthy and religious way. Since both of
the soul mates are aware of the Christian morals and beliefs,
the family is able to be raised in a way that is comfortable
and preferred by both parents, and the children to not need
to decide if they prefer Mommy’s religion over Daddy’s. Instead,
the children are raised in a controlled and understood environment.
These are the different ways in which some of the of the general
public’s view of the term soul mate and the odds of finding
one and how this is actually different from the ways that Christians
view the term and their capabilities to finding a soul mate
during the course of their lives.
